Table of Contents
1. Introduction, Purpose & Core Values
Welcome to TutorX. TutorX is committed to delivering high-quality online education through professional, ethical, and student-focused teaching. This Tutor Agreement establishes the standards, responsibilities, rights, expectations, and professional obligations applicable to every tutor employed by TutorX.
Our Core Values
Integrity, Student First, Professionalism, Respect, Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Ethical Teaching, and Teamwork.
2. Scope of Employment & Probation
This agreement applies to both full-time and part-time tutors. Tutors are employees of TutorX and not independent contractors unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Employment begins upon successful onboarding. The first month is normally probation. During probation, tutors receive mentoring, observation, and feedback. At the end of probation, TutorX Management decides whether to confirm employment, extend probation, require additional training, or discontinue employment based on performance.
3. Working Hours, Scheduling & Attendance
Tutors are assigned fixed weekly teaching schedules with reasonable flexibility. Classes are generally a minimum of two hours. Tutors must attend all assigned classes punctually. If a class is missed, the tutor must notify TutorX as early as possible and arrange a replacement class in coordination with management.
Planned leave should normally be requested at least one day in advance. Emergency leave will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
4. Compensation & Performance Evaluation
Tutors receive monthly compensation according to their employment terms. Salaries are generally processed within the first seven (7) working days of the following month.
Performance is assessed using attendance, punctuality, student/parent feedback, teaching quality, syllabus completion, and classroom observations. TutorX provides coaching and performance improvement plans where necessary.
5. Confidentiality, IP & Material Ownership
Confidential Information: Tutors shall keep confidential all non-public information obtained through TutorX, including student records, parent contacts, internal documents, fee structures, and business strategies.
Intellectual Property: All teaching materials, presentations, recordings, assignments, assessments, lesson plans, and educational content created for TutorX during employment are the property of TutorX. Tutors may not reuse, distribute, or commercially exploit TutorX-owned materials after leaving the company.
6. Class Recordings & Communication Rules
TutorX may record online classes for quality assurance, academic review, training, and operational purposes. Tutors may not create or distribute unauthorized recordings.
Tutors shall communicate with students and parents only through TutorX-approved communication channels. Sharing personal phone numbers, emails, or communicating outside approved systems is prohibited unless expressly authorized.
7. Child Safety & Professional Boundaries
Zero-Tolerance Safety Policy: TutorX maintains zero tolerance toward conduct compromising student safety. Tutors shall maintain professional boundaries at all times. Inappropriate relationships, harassment, intimidation, or arranging private offline meetings with students are strictly prohibited.
8. Outside Employment & Non-Compete
Full-time tutors shall prioritize their TutorX duties. Part-time tutors may undertake other employment provided it does not create a conflict of interest. No tutor may privately teach TutorX students, recruit TutorX students for another institution, or use TutorX resources for competing educational services.
9. Notice, Resignation & Termination
Tutors intending to resign shall normally provide at least fifteen (15) calendar days' written notice before their final working day.
TutorX may terminate employment for reasons including false qualifications, theft of confidential data, serious child safety breaches, unauthorized private tutoring, or continued poor performance after support. Confidentiality and IP obligations survive the end of employment.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
This Agreement is intended to be governed by applicable laws of the United Arab Emirates. TutorX encourages disputes to be resolved through discussion and internal review before external proceedings.
11. Signature Page & Declaration
Official execution block for employee onboarding & physical copy verification.
Tutor Declaration: The tutor confirms they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Agreement. The tutor declares that all submitted information is true and understands false information may result in disciplinary action or termination.
